Trainee Patent Agent

Applications are invited for the position of trainee patent agent with our firm. The successful candidate can expect an interesting and varied workload across several engineering disciplines, ranging from electronics, telecommunications, computer science & software, through to mechanical engineering and devices.

 

Preferably you should have:

 

- a good university degree in a relevant discipline, such as electrical engineering, physics or computer science;

- excellent English-language skills;

- an appreciation for the need for effective communication;

- good analytical skills and the ability to grasp complex technological and legal concepts;

- an attention to fine detail;

- completed at least two years’ training as a patent agent;

- part-qualification towards becoming a Registered Patent Agent;

- an outgoing and friendly personality.

Patent Secretary

We are also looking for a patent secretary to join the team. Preferably, you should have:

 

- substantial experience as a specialist patent secretary;

- a good command of the English language;

- audio typing skills;

- a desire to make a serious contribution to a small and dynamic team;

- an outgoing and friendly personality; and

- experience of trademarks and registered designs would be useful, but not essential.
